Wedding Celebrations - Part Two... With lives rooted in London and strong family ties to both Ireland and Brazil, Adam and John never really had the option of a single location for their wedding celebrations - so they embraced the chance for double the fun - with their initial day, which sorted the legal formalities, in London before heading to Donegal, just across the border from John’s hometown of Derry, for a lively celebration that brought together friends and family from around the world - including Adam's loved ones who were able to join in the fun from Brazil, virtually, via zoom. As their wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their unforgettable day at An Grianan Hotel in Donegal — a day full of love, laughter, and unexpected delights. Adam and John decided against formal photos - as they wanted to spend every minute with their guests, soaking in the atmosphere of their day. This worked perfectly - allowing me to focus entirely on capturing the candid moments of the genuine interactions between them and their family and friends. The day started with the couple getting ready together, accompanied by their best-women, or grooms-ladies, Diane and Daria - who held the crucial to-do list on her phone. The relaxed nature of the morning, albeit with a few nerves bubbling below the surface, set the tone for what would be a chilled out, love-filled celebration. A Personal Ceremony & Entertainment with a Twist Adam and John's ceremony was conducted by close friend Jen - who has raised the bar in terms of gift giving by going above and beyond — getting her celebrant license specifically for the occasion; a deeply personal touch that added an extra level of meaning to the ceremony. After the ceremony wrapped up, Adam and John spent their time mingling with guests; while Caolan McBride left guests both baffled and amazed - and if we're being honest a wee bit scared - with his 'mind-reading' and sleight of hand tricks. Late in the evening when I was asked if I was part of the set up and feeding back information to Caolan by folks still trying to figure it all out - I wasn’t, he just knows things! Alongside Colm Campbell, aka Nuffinc, brought his own unique contribution to the day with his caricature art - quickly and, seemingly, effortlessly sketching out guests—including Adam and John themselves — offering a unique keepsake for lucky folks who got to be his subjects From Irish Dancing to Brazilian Samba to A Full Dance Floor The entertainment didn’t stop there. The meal service included a surprise Irish dancing performance from one of An Grianan’s own team members, adding an authentic local touch, before Samba Dance Brazil lit up the Tuatha De Danann Suite with their vibrant traditional routines, bringing the spirit of carnival to Donegal. Not to be outshone Adam & John took the opportunity to have a quick wardrobe change to introduce the world to their sequined evening jackets! After the incredible Samba performance, the party continued with Mindbenders doing what they do & keeping the dance floor packed until late into the night. The energy never dipped, and neither did the laughter and in what seemed like no time it was time for refuelling via the evening buffet. For me, as their photographer, it was a privilege to witness such a joyous, unique event - a wedding that was not only full of fun but was a true reflection of Adam and John as a couple — their personalities, their love for each other, and the connections they share with their loved ones - it was a privilege to witness and document it.
