A Documentary Wedding Album

A Documentary Wedding Photography Album by Patrick Duddy Photography
Having a bit more time on my hands recently has taken away any excuses for not putting a sample album together!

So I've pulled together a selection of my favourite photographs from weddings over the past couple of years - which means they're almost exclusively documentary-style; photographs of those wee moments which often happen during the in-between time on your wedding day...

Here's a couple of photos, but I'll not post too many - I'll keep them to show during consultations, which will, hopefully, allow me to show how I love to capture the real moments, showing the real emotions of the day...
Documentary Wedding Photography Morning Shots from Patrick Duddy Photography - including the Bride, Groom, Page Boy & Bridesmaids.
Documentary Wedding Photographs taken during the Wedding / Civil Ceremony including smiling Bridesmaids and a very bored flower girl.
Documentary Wedding Photographs from the Evening Reception by Patrick Duddy Photography, including the Bride & Groom head upstairs, and a Flower Girl steals a glass of champagne!

Another Day with Jay... Second Shooting a Drung & Ballyliffin Lodge Wedding

Groom and father enjoy a cuppa while preparing for the wedding day ahead.
I've been meaning to post this for a wee while... another experience of second shooting with Jay Doherty Photography, this time at Ballyliffin Lodge Hotel

As Jay headed to the brides house on the morning of the wedding I was able to spend time with the groom, documenting as he prepared for the day ahead in the family pub.

Choosing a few photographs to share after second shooting is always a tough call - the choice of trying to cover the entire day in four or five shots, or going for a mini story from a certain section of the day.

My choice of photos gives a brief glimpse into the groom's morning - from enjoying a cuppa with his father, in between one getting ready and the other putting the finishing touches to his speech; watching on as the groomsman make last minute sartorial decisions - to iron or not to iron was the question, having a drop of dutch courage before hitting the road to the church; filling that hour between the groom & the brides arrival, and finally watching his bride walk down the aisle, whilst his mother watches him.

Second Shooting A Harvey's Point Wedding

The Groom's ready to go on the morning of his Harvey's Point Wedding
I recently had the pleasure of 'second shooting'. alongside Jay Doherty Photography at Harvey's Point.

It was the ideal scenario to really focus on documenting candid moments throughout the day.

Starting with that early morning realization from the groom that today really was the day; the tears at the service as his mum watches as he met his bride at the top of the aisle; through to the fun of the afternoon in the conservatory at Harveys Point while Storm Lorenzo did his worse outside, finishing with laughter from the bride & bridesmaid at the speeches.

I couldn't be prouder after picking up a Pathfinder Award at the Learning to Fly Irish Wedding Photographer of the Year Awards in Dundalk last week...

It was a genuine pleasure just to have attended the Inspiration Workshops, and a slightly surreal feeling while heading to the stage surrounded by so many amazing photographers whose work I have looked up to over the years...

Thank you again Learning to Fly & Jay Doherty Photography - the man behind the curtain making the magic happen....
