As I arrived at St Columb's Park with Leanne & Grace I began to plan out a route for us to dander, and a few shots to try out ... How naive was I!! It quickly became apparent that Grace was in 100% in charge - so off she lead us on a magical mystery tour - following dogs, ornamental birds, and a Minnie Mouse ball in whatever direction it happened to roll!
I did what i could to keep up as we enjoyed the last hour of sunshine, and a glorious final ten minutes or so of the 'golden hour'...

I first met up with Joanne & Tommy in front of a roaring fire, in the Red Door, Fahan, on a cold winter's day back in December 2013... we chatted about their plans for their wedding day and the relaxed and natural feel that they wanted for their wedding photos - just what i love to hear! Looking through a sample album a wedding cake took their eye, after asking did I know who had baked it, I think they pleasantly surprised to find out it was my better half... so back home they headed with their photos and cake sorted! (here's their Pretty Elegant Cake)
Six months later, on a glorious summer day, we were back in the Red Door, although this time they celebrating with family and friends following their beautiful wedding ceremony in St Colmcille's, Glendoran, and a quick stop for a few photographs at the gorgeous Glebe House. Here's the story of their day (thanks to Danny Bradley for lending me a helping hand) Michelle & Declan's August Wedding gave them a chance to bring gather friends and family for a good old fashioned Donegal get together - with a stop at O'Flaherty's Bar fitted in between the church ceremony at Cockhill and the reception at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel. The weather was also typically Donegal, but one of the wettest days of the summer wasn't enough to dampen spirits.
It was a new, and fun, photography experience for me on the day; with Daniel Bradley being the main man - taking care of all the formal portraits and family shoots, and so allowing me the opportunity to do what I love and to just roam and capture some of the moments that were occurring throughout the day... So here's their day from a second shooter's perspective |
