A quiet Tuesday night was an ideal time to take advantage of a 'locked-down' Derry city centre by using it as the backdrop to capture some street-photography inspired portraits that I'd a notion to try out for a while...
To add an extra obstacle the plan was to only use already available light - relying on street lamps and lit shop fronts rather than bringing camera flashes & stands along... One of the things I love about documentary wedding photography is constantly thinking about framing shots & moments without interfering in them and making the most of what's in front of you - using only available light gave me a chance to replicate at least one element of the challenges that I've missed this year...
